SKIRTING THE ISSUE

I've been having fun sewing up some skirts for the skirting the issue event over at Simple Simon and Company.
All skirts collected will go to girls in Foster Care. What an awesome event. Thank-you for the opportunity to serve, ladies!
I made 20 skirts ranging from size 6 to 12. I hope they make some smiles!

Magnetic Project Board

I actually made this a long time ago but failed to post it. I found an old gray metal ironing board at GoodWill, painted it turquoise and hung it on my craft room wall. I put some peg board hooks along the bottom edge to hold my scissors. They worked okay but would sometimes fall out. I'm going to buy some no-frills metal shower curtain hooks to hang in various holes on the bottom row. Left open they will hold more scissors or other tools, spools etc. S hooks would be great but you can't get them in the openings.
I love this board! I pin ideas, patterns, fabric store shopping lists, sewing TO DO lists etc. to it. Plus it's cute!

Earring Holder

I got this Fabulous old latice work picture frame at a yard sale in Utah several years ago. It took me awhile to find the right use for it. I'm so glad it came to mind while trying to figure out a way to organize my earrings! I love it. I cut small dowl rods to size, painted them to match and glued them to the back side of the frame opening. Now I just need to decide if I should get rid of some of my earrings or make another one! :)
Oh my, has it really been over a year since my last post? My life got quite a bit busier once we started caring for our parents. I also moved here with way too much craft stuff and unfinished projects. Over the last year I've tried to 'get real' in the craft room. I've tossed a lot, finished some and focused on adding very little. It has kept me busy but is paying off. My goal is to have my stash WAY down before we decide to move again!

In keeping with that plan, I found a new way to use some of the wool scraps from making purses. These cute little needle books. Theses two are headed to some cousins, but I like them so well I plan to make many more!

I've made a few more fun things recently but my camera was not working well & only got fuzzy pictures of them before 'gifting' them. More to come. I promise!
